Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation, co-Chairman of the Russian part of the intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation Alexey Logvinovich Overchuk.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of victory in the great Patriotic war and discussed the implementation of agreements following the telephone conversation between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Russia on may 12 this year.
In particular, they discussed aspects of enhancing cooperation within the framework of the intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation, taking into account the previously outlined directions for expanding bilateral trade and economic ties. They also discussed issues of close cooperation to combat the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
Recall that during a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries on the eve, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the expediency of instructing the relevant state structures of Turkmenistan and Russia to develop a joint comprehensive program to counter the pandemic, which would reflect the experience accumulated by both countries, as well as the forms and models of subsequent cooperation.
