The possibility of interaction between the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva and the Higher School of Music of Paris in the field of training talented pianists was discussed at a meeting by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France Maksat Charyev and Professor of L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot Sergey Markarov.
According to the IIC, the parties expressed their readiness to develop fruitful cooperation between specialized educational institutions of the two countries.
Professor of the Higher School of Music of Paris Sergei Markarov is a luminary of piano art. In 2002, he was awarded the honorary title “UNESCO Artist for Peace” for his important contribution to the defense of the ideals of peace, tolerance and intercultural dialogue championed by UNESCO.
