On December 5, the assembly hall of the Maurice Thorez Moscow State Linguistic University hosted a screening of the educational essay film “The Father’s Testament”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen literature and Eastern thinker Magtymguly Fragi.

The film is based on the poetic play of the same name by Anastasia Valeryevna Pavlova within the framework of her author's project “Geniuses of the World. Turkmenistan”. A.V. Pavlova is an international public figure, author and head of the International Independent Integration Program “CIS + WORLD: Culture. Education. Tourism”, playwright, cultural scientist, author of the project “Geniuses of the World”, co-chairman of the socio-cultural initiative “Time of Man”.

The film's director is former RBC and TASS media manager N. Gerashchenko, music by composer T. Jager.

As reported on the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, this is the first film about Magtymguly created in Russia on the personal initiative of the authors of the project.

The film-essay is a unique synthesis of several genres: a poetic play, readings of translations of Magtymguly’s poems, documentary video footage of Turkmen landscapes, staged theatrical scenes.

Graduates of the Institute of Theatre Arts named after the People's Artist of the USSR I.D. Kobzon were involved in the filming: Mark Margaryan played the role of Magtymguly, Andrei Iosifov played the role of the poet's father, and Elizaveta Prilutskaya played Mengli.
