In Rabat (Morocco), at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), solemn events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi were held. The events were organized by the joint efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan, the ISESCO Directorate General and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). This was reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Bashimova, who held a meeting with ISESCO Director General Dr. Salem Bin Mohammed Al Malik to discuss cooperation prospects. As part of the celebration, an exhibition of decorative and applied arts of the Turkmen people was organized and a scientific and practical conference "Joint efforts for a comprehensive study of the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi" was held.
In his speech, ISESCO Director General emphasized the humanistic significance of Magtymguly Fragi's work for all mankind, especially for the Islamic world, calling the poet the creator of a unique bridge between countries and peoples. TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev noted the importance of such events for bringing peoples closer together through common values.
The scientific conference brought together scientists from different countries who discussed the legacy of the great poet and his influence on world culture. Particular attention was paid to the role of Magtymguly Fragi's works in education and mentoring, which have served as a guide to humanity and peacefulness for three centuries. The celebrations ended with a gala concert of masters of culture and art of the Turkic world.
