1. The main Christmas tree of Turkmenistan, installed on the square of the cultural and entertainment center “Alem” in Ashgabat, is the highest in the CIS. Its height is 43 meters. The top five of the rating also includes trees in Yerevan, Tashkent, Baku and Dushanbe.

2. A container train from Uzbekistan to Europe went for the first time along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route to the Bulgarian port of Burgas. The train with copper concentrate will move along the route Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Bulgaria / Europe, with a length of more than 4000 km.

3. Within the framework of the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to Turkmenistan, a new building of the Saudi Arabian embassy was opened in Ashgabat. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the opening ceremony. The diplomats cut the symbolic ribbon and unveiled a memorial plaque in honor of the opening of the embassy.

4. St. Petersburg hosted a fashion show dedicated to the 27th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. This event was organized by the Fashion Houses of Turkmenistan and St. Petersburg with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg. During the Show there was a defile of fashionable models from Turkmenistan. The demonstrated models of clothing reflected the traditions and beauty of the Turkmen culture.

5. The President of Turkmenistan discussed with the heads of regions the dynamics of agricultural work and preparations for the New Year. The head of Turkmenistan ordered to prepare for the celebration of the New Year at a high level, to take all measures to ensure the abundance of food products in stores and markets.

In Turkmenistan, work is underway to restore the medieval sardoba located on the settlement of Anau near the famous historical and cultural complex “Seyit Jemaletdin”, dating back to the 15th century. The work is carried out by a special scientific and restoration workshop of the National Administration of Turkmenistan for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments.

7. On December 31, Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital will be entertained at several city concert venues. On the “Ylham” alley, the meeting of the new year will begin at 18:00, exactly one hour later, a fun show program will unfold on the square near the State Circus. And right from here you can make it to the Main Christmas Tree, where at 21:00 a colorful New Year's performance will be arranged, at 23:00 residents of the country's regions will join it via a teleconference. On this day, events will be organized for them near the buildings of Türkmeniň ak öýi. Thus, the people of Turkmenistan will celebrate the New Year 2023 with a friendly family.

8. The winner of the “Mrs World 2022” beauty pageant was Sargam Koushal from India. She received the crown from the hands of the champion of the last competition, American Shailene Ford. Sargam Koushal works as a teacher and model. She got married in 2018 and at the same time began to take part in beauty contests for married women. Koushal is the second Indian to be crowned “Mrs World”, the first being Aditi Govitrikar in 2001.

9. Apple is preparing to release new models of smartphones, MacBooks, displays and various gadgets in 2023. In 2023, the updated iPhone 14 will be released. The update, however, will only affect the color of the case, and what it will be has not yet been reported. The iPhone 15 is also expected to come out with a USB-C port, an updated case design, and touch-sensitive power and volume buttons. MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 inches will receive a new M2 chip, other updates are not expected in these models. MacBook Air will get a wider, 15,5-inch screen. The company is also gearing up to introduce the iMac all-in-one with the M3 chip.

10. Turkmen karatekas won two bronze medals at the WKF Asian Karate Championship among adults, cadets, youth and athletes under 21, which started in Tashkent. In the weight category up to 60 kg, 16 years old Magtymguly Annayev managed to climb to the third step of the podium. In addition, 17 years old Hemra Begjanov, who performed in the weight category up to 75 kg, achieved similar success. It should be noted that Turkmenistan is represented at the competitions by 24 karatekas. In total, more than 700 athletes from 28 countries compete at the Asian Championship.
