1. Representatives of the Turkmen media held a meeting with the management of the Malaysian news agency Bernama as part of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Malaysia. During the meeting, the Turkmen delegation expressed interest in the training of journalists. The meeting ended with an agreement to develop close cooperation and an exchange of invitations to continue the dialogue on Turkmen soil.
2. The Yalda holiday, dedicated to the winter solstice, was celebrated at the Iranian Cultural Center in Ashgabat. The event was attended by Iranian citizens living in Turkmenistan, as well as students of the cultural center. Thematic theatrical performances were prepared in honor of the holiday, and guests were treated to traditional Iranian treats.

3. The capital of Tatarstan will host the 17th International Festival of Turkic Peoples next summer, which will be held from June 9 to 22, 2025. The festival has opened its doors to theater groups from Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries. Applications for participation can be submitted until February 1. The festival is expected to bring together more than a thousand participants representing the rich diversity of theatrical traditions of the Turkic peoples.
4. Five Caspian states, including Turkmenistan, have decided to extend the ban on commercial sturgeon fishing in the Caspian Sea until 2025. The decision was made at the 8th session of the Commission on the Conservation and Rational Use of Aquatic Biological Resources of the Caspian Sea, which was held in Astrakhan.
5. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshanbek Alimov. During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed. The diplomats expressed confidence that Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation will continue to strengthen and successfully develop in the interests of the fraternal peoples of the two countries.

1. For the first time in three decades, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has radically changed its approach to defining healthy foods. Unlike the recommendations of the 1990s, when the main goal was to reduce overall fat in the diet, the new rules recognize the important role of healthy fats in nutrition. Now, foods such as avocados, various nuts, seeds, fatty fish, eggs, and olive oil are officially recognized as components of a healthy diet. At the same time, many products have lost their “healthy” status. Among them were sugary fruit snacks, high-sugar bars, fortified breakfast cereals, sweetened yogurts, and fruit drinks.

1. Turkmen boxer Khursand Imankuliev won a split decision over Ziyidin Tohirov from Uzbekistan, continuing his unbeaten streak in his professional career. He achieved this success in the 66,6 kg weight category. The four-round fight took place as part of the Fight Nights Boxing evening in the capital of Kazakhstan. For Imankuliev, this victory was the third in his professional career.
2. Turkmen chess players won five medals at the Asian Schoolchildren's Championship held in Bangkok. The competition in the capital of Thailand brought together 555 participants from 31 countries, who competed for the title of the strongest in six age categories.
3. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has donated a large batch of sports equipment to the junior hockey teams of Turkmenistan aged 13-15. The agreement was reached at the IIHF Congress in Prague in May, said Chairman of the Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan Jora Hudayberdyev. In the near future, the sets of equipment will be distributed among the youth teams "Galkan", "Şir", "Oguzhan", "Alp Arslan" and "Burgut".
