The volume of non-cash payments in Turkmenistan for January-November 2024 exceeded 18.3 billion manat, which is 17% more than the same period in 2023. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Over the past decade, there has been a significant increase in electronic payments: if in 2013 the volume of non-cash payments was only 4.2 million manats, then by 2023 this figure increased to 17.37 billion manats.

The growth of non-cash payments was facilitated by the introduction of modern digital services, including mobile and Internet banking. Among the new services is the Menzilara-bank remote banking system, which as of December 1, 2024 was used by more than 24.1 thousand clients for transactions with international payment cards.

Separately, the growing popularity of the Halkbank-terminal service is noted - over the 11 months of 2024, transactions worth 210.6 million manats were carried out through it, which is 3.8% higher than the same period last year.

The international payment systems VISA and MasterCard are also actively developing in the country, contactless payment technologies and new mobile applications for financial transactions are being introduced. This allows Turkmenistan to integrate into the global banking services industry and improve the quality of service to the population.
