Today, the global session "National indicators and national voluntary reviews (NVR) on sustainable development Goals" was held in the building of the UN Office in Ashgabat via videoconference, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The purpose of the event was to explain the national priorities of States in the context of the ongoing preparation of the national voluntary country review.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the United Nations and its divisions working in our country, a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the ministries of foreign Affairs, Finance and economy, the state Committee on statistics and the state Committee on television, radio and cinematography.
As the participants of the meeting noted, Turkmenistan actively participates in the formation of the global SDG agenda. In July 2019, the country submitted to the world community a Voluntary national review of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Also, on March 14, 2020, the framework program for cooperation in the field of sustainable development between the government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025 was signed.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan regularly conducts consultations at the national level with broad participation of partners on the priorities of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, on the implementation of the SDG and the preparation of NVR.
