Turkmenistan is participating for the first time in the World Mental Sports Olympiad MEMORIAD-2024, which is being held in Dubai from November 4 to 11. The country will be represented by schoolchildren studying under the Anzan Mega Mental program in the educational centers “Kamil Bilim”, “Bilim Yoly” and “Altyn Gorech”.

More than 150 talented participants from more than 60 countries of the world are taking part in the prestigious competition. Turkmenistan is represented by 17 participants and 2 official representatives. They will compete in five categories: mental calendar, Anzan flash marathon, oral addition, oral multiplication (8x8) and oral extraction of square roots (6-digit numbers).

MEMORIAD, founded in 2006, is a unique Olympiad that unites various disciplines of mental sports.

Let us recall that the first MEMORIAD Olympiad was held in 2008 in Istanbul and has since been held every four years, similar to the Olympic Games. The last competitions were held in 2016 in Las Vegas, and the Olympiad planned for 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The official representative of the MEMORIAD Mental Sports Federation in Turkmenistan and a member of the Olympiad panel of judges is Dovletmurad Durdymammedov, deputy director of the private enterprise “Kyamil Bilim”. The Olympiad also plans to attempt to set new world records in the presence of representatives of the Guinness Book of Records.
