The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has prepared a draft Work Plan for 2024. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported about this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
As the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, the plan was prepared in accordance with key strategic documents in the field of foreign policy. It is aimed at implementing a course of positive neutrality, humanizing international relations and expanding international cooperation of Turkmenistan.
According to the plan, a number of events are planned in 2024 to mark significant dates - the 33rd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan and the 29th anniversary of permanent neutrality. The development of political, economic and cultural ties with foreign countries is envisaged.
Particular attention was paid to intensifying the work of intergovernmental commissions and increasing economic interaction to promote the export and investment potential of Turkmenistan. It is also planned to prepare bilateral and multilateral documents within the framework of international cooperation.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the country’s commitment to the chosen foreign policy course and gave the Foreign Minister a number of specific instructions for its implementation.
