1. Last week, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan sent an additional batch of humanitarian aid to Türkiye by regular flight. 60 heaters and other essentials were sent to the disaster zone. In addition, 130 mattresses were sent from Ashgabat to earthquake-affected areas of Türkiye.

2. 26 documents were signed regarding the interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN in the field of economy, healthcare, education, mass media, as well as other important areas. The singing ceremony was held on February 27 in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Among the signed documents are joint projects for 2023-2025, as well as work plans for the current year.

3. The premiere of the play “Who loves whom?” staged by the teacher of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture Eresh Hamrayeva will be held in Ashgabat on the stage of the Student Theatre named after Mollanepes on March 4. The performance based on the play by the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, playwright Berdy Byashimov, is performed by 3rd year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture.

4. On March 17, an auction for the sale of state-owned objects will be held in Turkmenistan. The auction will be held on the digital trading platform for state property www.е.fineconomic.gov.tm and through the mobile application of this platform. The list includes 37 objects.

5. Maslenitsa was celebrated with songs and dances at the Joint Turkmen-Russian secondary school named after A.S. Pushkin. Students were able to participate in a master class on creating amulets and jewelry. In 2023 Maslenitsa began on February 20 and ended on February 26. February 27 begins Great Lent, which will last 47 days.

6. The Peruvian authorities have extended the state of emergency until the end of 2023 due to an increase in the incidence of the bird flu virus among wild and domestic species of birds and animals. Since last year alone, this strain has killed more than 63 thousand animals and birds.

7. Tashkent State Pedagogical University and Tashkent State Dental Institute plan to fully provide themselves with electricity by next year by using solar panels. Plans for the use of solar energy in these universities to generate electricity were announced during the meeting of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov with the rectors of universities.

8. The team of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the II Winter International Sports Games “Children of Asia”, which was held on Saturday in the Kemerovo ice palace “Kuzbass”. Turkmen athletes take part in the International Sports Games “Children of Asia” for the second time. Four years ago, they made their debut in hockey and figure skating competitions. The current delegation of Turkmenistan includes 17 people, including 10 athletes who will compete in figure skating, short track and snow volleyball.

9. “PSG” and Argentina striker Lionel Messi has been named the FIFA Player of the Year 2022. The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 was held on February 27 in Paris. “PSG” striker Kylian Mbappe and “Real Madrid” striker Karim Benzema were also up for the prize.
