At a working meeting on agricultural development held today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the rectors of the Turkmen Agricultural University Dovletgeldy Myradov and the Turkmen Agricultural Institute Allaberdy Gapurov, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
The head of state said that one of the most important tasks is to increase the contribution made by the country's scientists to the agricultural complex.
The President of the country emphasized that in order to turn the domestic agricultural complex into a highly profitable industry, as well as to ensure its efficiency, innovative methods, advanced achievements of science and technology, and the best world experience should be widely introduced.
Purposeful work should be carried out to increase the yield of the country's agricultural areas, preserve environmental well-being, improve seed production and selection, rational use of land and water resources.
Specialists and scientists should make a corresponding contribution in this area, including through the effective use of scientifically grounded methods, the head of state said, giving a number of instructions.
