Turkmenistan will take part in two new European regional projects within the framework of the Erasmus+ educational program, which are scheduled to start in January 2025. This was reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

In particular, these are the projects:

  • GDCAU – “Green Deal for Central Asian Universities”;
  • ESGCA – “Addressing Environmental Challenges, Social Needs and Good Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia”.

The activities under the projects are designed for 3 years. Turkmenistan’s participation in them confirms the country’s readiness to develop international and regional cooperation on the “green” and climate agenda.

The goals of the projects are related to strengthening the links between environmental issues, social needs and good governance in the education and employment sectors of Central Asia.

The National Office of the European Erasmus+ program in Turkmenistan coordinates the implementation of educational projects related to the implementation of the country’s priorities in the field of modernization of higher education, development of an innovative and “green” economy, and the fight against climate change.

This year, a regional project CirculEC was launched, in which Turkmenistan is participating. The project aims to build human capital capacity in Central Asian universities on the circular economy, with the aim of providing staff, students and the general public with skills and competencies that meet the needs of local labor markets and the environmental challenges faced by Central Asian countries, the source notes.
