The Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports celebrated the university's achievements in 2024

At a ceremonial meeting at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, the results of 2024 were summed up, noting the successes achieved during this period.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, in 2024, student-athletes of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports took part in 41 international competitions, winning 49 gold, 35 silver, 43 bronze medals - a total of 127 awards.

855 medals were won at 151 sports competitions held within the country.

The university held 52 republican sports competitions, where special attention was paid to identifying talented athletes.

It was noted that this year the university became a member of the International Association of Universities of Physical Education and Sport, which unites more than 60 leading universities in the world specializing in physical education and sport.

In this significant year, the university students repeatedly took part in various Olympiads and competitions, winning prestigious awards.

During the year, 6 textbooks, 3 teaching aids and 2 scientific collections prepared by the university were officially published.

According to the results of the year, senior lecturer of the Department of Wrestling and Martial Arts Jennet Geldibaeva was recognized as the best teacher of the year.

The teachers of the Department of Medical and Biological Support of Sports, who actively participated in the research activities of the Scientific and Methodological Work Center "Olimp", showed high results.

The student-athlete of the year was a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Olympic Sports, world champion in weightlifting Shahzadbek Matyakulov.

Serdargeldi Nurmuhammedov, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Sports, was recognized as the Student of the Year.

Agabay Akmyradov, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Physical Education, was recognized as the best sports journalist of the year.
