Roadmap for 2025-2026 to reduce methane emissions adopted in Turkmenistan

During the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, a roadmap for 2025-2026 was adopted to strengthen Turkmenistan’s international cooperation to implement the goals and objectives stipulated by the global methane commitment. For the practical implementation of the roadmap, a set of measures was developed and approved, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

According to the department, within the framework of the implementation of the roadmap, cooperation is planned with the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the EU, the OSCE, the World Bank, the ADB and the IDB, USAID and other international structures.

Particular attention will be paid to the country’s participation in the work of the MARS digital platform, created under the auspices of the UN Environment Program. Joint scientific and practical conferences, round tables and seminars with international partners, as well as the development of projects for the processing of associated gas using innovative technologies are planned.
