During a telephone conversation between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of interstate cooperation in the trade, economic and fuel and energy sectors. Particular attention was paid to the full use of the transport and transit potential of the two countries, TDH reports.
The interlocutors noted that friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan continue to strengthen, and the partnership between the states has reached a qualitatively new level. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed warm greetings from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Uzbek leader, to which Shavkat Mirziyoyev responded with mutual wishes.
During the conversation, issues of implementing previously reached agreements and prospects for joint projects were also discussed. At the end of the conversation, the leaders wished each other good health and success, and prosperity and well-being to the peoples of the two countries.
