Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Robert Floyd. During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the CTBTO, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The parties emphasized the importance of the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and the importance of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality aimed at maintaining peace and stability. Turkmenistan, as a party to the main international treaties and UN conventions in the field of disarmament, intends to continue to promote these processes at the regional and global levels.
Prospects for interaction were discussed, including training, participation of national experts in seminars and trainings organized by the CTBTO, and the provision of technical assistance.
