1. The XXIII International Universal Exhibition “White City of Ashgabat”, dedicated to the City Day, started at the Expo Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. More than 160 Turkmen and foreign companies, government agencies, private enterprises and business structures present their developments and achievements in the field of construction, architecture, design, urban planning, “green” technologies and other areas that shape the appearance of modern Ashgabat.
2. Today, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Ashgabat. On the agenda is the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the participating countries. At this meeting, Ashgabat is planned to be declared the City of New Sports Opportunities of the CIS.
3. In the Great Hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva on May 31 at 18:00 a grand concert will be held with the participation of young talents from children's music schools, students and famous stage masters. The concert program promises to be rich and varied, including works by Turkmen and foreign composers, songs from famous cartoons and films.
4. The Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan has approved updated construction standards for internal water supply and sewerage systems of buildings. The contents of the document are published on the website of the Ministry of Justice. The adopted standards are aimed at improving the rules and requirements for the design and construction of water supply and sewerage systems, including hot and cold water supply, sewerage and fire protection systems.
5. The Center for Access to Information of Turkmenistan was recognized as the best in 2024 according to the National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea. The assessment was carried out based on the results of activities in the previous year among similar centers operating in 56 countries.

6. Debate has erupted in China over the ethics of selling cats, dogs and other small animals through vending machines. A video from Beijing of a vending machine displaying cats in tiny compartments has sparked outrage on social media. Users note that the animals in the footage look healthy, but they have previously seen similar machines where pets were kept in terrible conditions, were sick or even dead. Animal rights activists are calling on the Chinese authorities to ban this practice, regarding it as cruelty to animals.
7. Manchester authorities are planning to demolish a new house, which turned out to be 75 centimeters higher than the permitted height. The plan for the Prestwich site was initially approved by the town council. However, after completion of the work, the commission discovered that the house did not comply with the approved project and exceeded the permissible height. In this regard, a decision was made to dismantle it. The property owners' appeal was rejected. Now the owner of the house has only six months to demolish it.

9. Starting next season, there will be significant changes to the Champions League calendar. In addition to the traditional game days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, tournament matches will also be played on Thursdays. Moreover, all 18 matches of the final round of the group stage will take place simultaneously on January 29, starting at the same time. The reform is associated with an increase in the number of participants in the Champions League from 32 to 36 teams, as well as with the abandonment of the traditional group stage. Instead, a general standings will be introduced, in which each club will play 8 games with different opponents.
