The State Concern "Turkmengas" is carrying out work on drilling new wells in the Mary and Lebap velayats of Turkmenistan in order to increase natural gas production in these regions. Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, who oversees the fuel and energy sector, reported this at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, TDH reports.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, summarizing the report, emphasized the importance of extracting additional volumes of hydrocarbons. In this regard, the head of state instructed the vice-premier to monitor the work of the Turkmengeology State Corporation, which is engaged in geological exploration and development of oil and gas fields.
