The international regional conference on the theme “Development of green energy in Central Asia: challenges and opportunities” was held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
The forum was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat with the support of the Government of Turkmenistan within the framework of jointly agreed plans of activities of Turkmenistan and the OSCE for 2024.
As reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the conference, held in a hybrid format, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the State Concern “Turkmengas”, the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, as well as international experts and specialists from Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
During the conference, a number of scientific reports were heard on topics such as “Best regional practices for the development of green energy”; “Renewable energy sources in the production of green energy: opportunities and challenges”; “Green hydrogen – the fuel of the future”; “Climate change and green energy”; “The impact of hydrogen on ecology and the environment”; “Green energy: solar thermal systems”; “Resource potential of solar energy” and others.
An exhibition of scientific works by members of the University Council of Young Scientists – teachers and students of the Power Engineering Institute – was organized in the foyer of the main building of the Institute.
The International regional conference was held in order to improve the professional level of representatives of the teaching staff, young scientists, and research staff of the University, to study world experience in the field of green energy development, to successfully implement the activities planned in this area, and to implement the tasks set in the concepts adopted in the education system of Turkmenistan.
