At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev reported on improving the activities of structural divisions and carpet enterprises of the “Turkmenhaly” State Association, as well as on the work to widely popularize the art of hand-made carpet weaving, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in order to preserve original samples of antique carpets, the industry's production infrastructure is being modernized. New artistic carpet weaving enterprises are being created, where there are all conditions for fruitful work and comfortable rest for craftswomen.
Information was also provided on expanding the range of carpet products, preserving the national flavor of products, meeting demand in the domestic and foreign markets, strengthening the material and technical base of the industry in accordance with modern requirements.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the state pays special attention to the development of the famous folk art of carpet weaving, making great efforts to improve and popularize it in the world. The head of state pointed out the need to modernize “Turkmenhaly” enterprises and gave corresponding instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.
