The II International Theater Festival TURKSOY will be held in Turkmenistan next year. This was announced by the organization’s Secretary General Sultan Raev at the closing of the first festival in Baku, reports the website azernews.az.
The baton of the festival passes to Turkmenistan along with the election of the Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
Turkmenistan will also host the 10th meeting of the Council of Heads of State Theaters of the TURKSOY member countries. The event is expected to take place in Anau.
The TURKSOY International Theater Festival is designed to create a basis for the development of theatrical ties between Turkic countries and the expansion of creative exchange. The purpose of the festival is to provide audiences with the opportunity to get acquainted with the diversity of theatrical traditions of Turkic-speaking peoples, as well as to promote cultural dialogue and mutual enrichment.
