Yaroslavl “Shinnik” beat Astrakhan “Volgar” with a score of 2:1 in the 3rd round of the First League. This is the first victory for the team under the new head coach Dmitry Khomukha.
Khomukha is a graduate of Turkmen football, a former player of CSKA and “Terek”, a coach of the Russian junior teams. He headed “Shinnik” before the start of the season. Previously, the team lost two away matches.
At a press conference after the match with “Volgar”, Khomukha noted that the team is experiencing problems in the transfer market:
“Today it is very difficult for “Shinnik” to compete on the market. There are 10-12 clubs that have much better opportunities to improve their roster than we do. Therefore, we invite to the team only those whom we can afford. We cannot choose a player that we like, but we take those who are available. The transfer campaign will last until September 9. But now the circle is narrowing, and it is very difficult for us to compete. We are doing very intensive work in this direction, but so far, unfortunately, we do not have enough resources to compete with other teams.”
The next match “Shinnik” will play with “Khimki” on August 5.
