1. A new agreement between the parliaments of the two countries is planned to be signed by Turkmenistan and Russia. This was stated by the Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matvienko at a meeting with the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova. The meeting was held “on the sidelines” of the X Nevsky International Ecological Congress in St. Petersburg. Matvienko invited her colleague to take part in the fourth Eurasian Women's Forum, which will be held in the fall of 2024, as well as in the upcoming off-site meeting of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on November 16-17 in Bishkek. Let us remind that in 2022, Turkmenistan and Russia signed an Agreement on the establishment of an inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation.
2. On June 2, the grain harvest campaign will begin in Turkmenistan. Farmers from Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats will be the first to start harvesting wheat on this day. And the wheat harvest in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats will begin on June 9.
3. In the coming month, on the Caspian coast, in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, it is planned to hold a festival, as well as the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Traditions of Folk Art and Folk Dance”. Deputy Prime Minister Myahrijemal Mammedova, who oversees the sphere of culture, reported this to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday. The desire to participate in the festival was expressed by folklore and dance groups from many countries, including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Romania, Iran, India, China, etc.
4. On June 3, Turkmenistan will celebrate World Bicycle Day. By tradition, mass bike rides will be held throughout the country on this day. World Bicycle Day was established in April 2018 at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
5. From June 28 to 30, Turkmenistan will celebrate a national holiday – Gurban Bayram. Gurban Bayram - one of the two main Islamic holidays, is celebrated 70 days after another important holiday - Oraza Bayram. The days of its celebration in Turkmenistan are non-working.
6. On May 28, the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg will host a large-scale festival “The World of Carpet”, timed to coincide with Carpet Day, which is annually celebrated in Turkmenistan on the last Sunday of May. The museum staff prepared a special lecture program and curatorial tours about carpets and rugs from Turkmenistan. Also, museum visitors will be offered a master class “Weaving on a frame”, where everyone can try themselves as a weaver, get acquainted with different weaving techniques and create their own bookmark for books.

A resident of Nepal became the first person in the world with above-the-knee amputation who conquered Mount Everest. 43 years old Hari Budha Magar climbed the “roof of the world”, as Everest is also called, on prostheses. He lost his legs in 2010 during military service. With his climbing Everest, he plans to inspire other people.
8. The first 16K TV made by the Chinese company BOE is presented in China. The company's new product, presented at Display Week 2023, is the world's first TV with a 16K resolution panel. The matrix of the new TV has a resolution of 132 megapixels. This is 16 times the resolution of 4K and 64 times the resolution of Full HD. The company's representatives have not yet announced the cost of the new TV and the timing of its entry into the consumer market.

9. “Arkadag” completed the first round of the championship of Turkmenistan on football with a victory over “Ahal” with a score of 5:2. Footballers of “Arkadag” confidently complete the first round of the championship of Turkmenistan on football on the first line in the standings, 10 points ahead of “Altyn asyr” (14) and “Kopetdag” (14), having one match in reserve. The team from “Ahal” remained ninth, with three points in the asset.
10. Group “A” matches of the third division of the Ice Hockey World Championship in 2024 will be held in Kyrgyzstan. This became known following the results of the annual Congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation, which is taking place these days in Finland. The national ice hockey team of Turkmenistan will compete for admission to the second division with the teams of Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Luxembourg and Kyrgyzstan. The tournament will be held in Bishkek from March 10 to 16, 2024. Let us remind that at the world championship in the third division of group “A” that ended in April, the hockey players of the national team of Turkmenistan won silver medals. The tournament was held in South Africa.
11. Ashgabat hosted sports events dedicated to the City Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the EU. At the Ashgabat multifunctional stadium, long-distance running competitions were held - 5 km, 10 km, 15 km and 20 km, in which about 60 people took part, and mini-football among boys and children. The winner of the mini-football tournament was the team of the sports school for children and youth of the Olympic reserve “Diyar”.
