Twins Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway, born on October 31, 2022 in the United States, can be considered the oldest newborns - they were born from embryos frozen in 1992, that is, 30 years ago. This is a record term for freezing embryos for artificial insemination, which ended with the appearance of a viable newborn, writes “Komsomolskaya Pravda” with reference to CNN.

The parents of Lydia and Timothy already had four children born in the usual way. According to the twins' father, Philip Ridgeway, these youngest children are actually older than their other siblings, as the biological material for their embryos was frozen when Philip himself was only five years old.

The names of the twins' biological parents have not been released for reasons of anonymity. The Ridgeways emphasized that they specifically chose the embryos that “waited the longest in line” but did not seek to break any record.
