Turkmenistan will once again consider the issue of increasing wages, pensions, state benefits, scholarships for students and listeners by 10 percent. This proposal was made by the head of this chamber of the national parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, at a Wednesday meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today.

The head of the Halk Maslahaty reminded that for a number of years in Turkmenistan, wages, pensions, state benefits, scholarships for students and trainees have been increased annually by 10 percent.

“This work will continue in the future”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, noting that this is an important area of concern for people.

In this context, it was emphasized that leaders at all levels should pay special attention to this.

“However, the heads of the financial and banking system are not yet working properly”, - continued the head of the Halk Maslahaty.

“In this regard, questions also arise: “Is a 10 percent increase in wages and other benefits enough? Is this enough for a decent life of the people?” - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh noted that there are all opportunities to take care of people, the sufficiency of funds for this due to the economic strength of the country.

“First of all, it should be assumed that the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028” provides for an increase in the average monthly salary to 2506,3 manats in 2023”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
