1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan on a two-day visit. The Turkmen leader participated in the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State and the “Central Asia-Russia” summit.
2. The number of universities that are included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has increased in Turkmenistan. The World University Rankings-2023 includes 3 universities of Turkmenistan. Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.
3. The international festival of artisans and masters of arts and crafts has ended in Turkmenistan. The closing ceremony of the forum was held in the conference hall of the Local History Museum of the Lebap velayat. Turkmen artisans, craftsmen and artists had the opportunity to demonstrate to foreign guests the original culture of their country, unique in beauty and depth of traditions. At the same time, they were able to learn a lot about the traditions of folk crafts and applied arts of other peoples.
4. More than 600 students from Turkmenistan study at Astrakhan State University, and more than 800 Turkmen citizens have graduated from this university over the past three years. According to ASU rector Konstantin Markelov, the university closely cooperates with the Turkmen consulate in Astrakhan and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Turkmenistan. Also, the university regularly holds joint events with the Magtymguly school and the Turkmen-Russian school named after Pushkin.
5. Starting next year, Google will begin accepting payment for its cloud services in cryptocurrency. Such types of cryptocurrencies as bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, litecoin, dogecoin will be accepted for payment. So far, a limited number of users will be able to make such payments, but in the future the number of customers will grow.
6. One of the oldest surviving Levi's jeans in history sold for 87 thousand USD. Jeans were probably made in the 80s of the XIX century. They were found several years ago in an abandoned mine. They are quite well preserved, the fabric is still wearable, but it has a few stains from candle wax, which was used by gold miners to light mines.
7. The winner of the 1998 FIFA World Cup as part of the French national team, David Trezeguet, visited the “Juventus” Academy in Dushanbe. Trezeguet held a master class for young football players and noted that the children in this academy play with great desire, they want to study, they study according to the “Juventus” methodology.
8. Shatlyk Shohradov from Turkmenistan took fourth place at the Asian Weightlifting Championship in the weight category up to 89 kg. The Turkmen athlete in total showed the result of 350 kg (160 in the snatch + 190 in the clean and jerk). The first place was taken by the representative of Kazakhstan Asylzhan Bektai (362), the second was the Kyrgyz weightlifter Emil Moldodosov (361), the third was the Iranian Masud Chatrai (358).
