Ashgabat is holding the eighth international training course “Caspian Sea – sustainable development and management”, organized by the International Ocean Institute (IOI), the Institute of the Caspian Sea of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The course is dedicated to cooperation in the Caspian region and its sustainable development and is designed to improve the professional level of specialists whose activities are related to the issues of the Caspian Sea.
As reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the speakers of the curriculum are scientists and teachers from Russia and Iran, specialists from Spain, Honduras, Malta and Turkey.
Within the framework of the course covers such issues as the specifies of the legal status of the Caspian Sea and the legal regime of its maritime space, environmental problems of the Caspian Sea and ways to solve them, issues of fishing and combating poaching, reduction, prevention and control of marine pollution, and many others.
The course will continue until May 27. At the end of the training, participants representing all the countries of the Caspian region will be awarded certificates of completion of the course, notes the source.
