The capital of the People's Republic of China hosted events within the framework of the Year of Culture of Turkmenistan, which took place from June 4 to 7. The closing ceremony ended with a concert featuring artists from the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.
The concert program featured a chamber orchestra led by senior lecturer of the String Instruments Department Tahir Atayev, as well as leading masters of Turkmen art. Among the performers were Professor Atageldy Garyagdyev, awarded the title of "Honorary Elder of the People" of Turkmenistan, People's Artists vocalist Atajan Berdyev and bagshy Almagul Nazarova, Honored Artists Amangeldy Amanov, Gozel Annajanova and dutarist Aygul Yagshyeva.
The concert opened with the performance of the "Solemn Overture" by composer Aman Agajikov. The program included both classical Turkmen works and Chinese folk music, which emphasized the cultural interaction between the two countries.
Aygul Yagshiyeva presented musical fragments from the film "Shukur bagshy" and the Turkmen folk song "Durdy bagshy". In a duet with Gozel Annajanova, the song Karkara from the film "Secrets of the mukam" was performed.
The vocal program was presented by Amangeldi Amanov with the songs "Turkmenistan lalezar", "Wedding song" and an aria from the opera "Shasenem and Garib", as well as Atageldy Garyagdyev, who performed works to the music of Nury Halmamedov and the words of Magtymugula Pyragy.
Particular attention was paid to the musical dialogue between cultures. Atajan Berdyev performed the song "Mama" by Chinese composer Yao Chen, and Gozel Annajanova presented the Chinese folk song "Jasmine". The orchestra conducted by Tahyr Atayev performed the Chinese folk melody "Guests from afar".
The concert ended with the performance of duets from the opera "Kemine and kazy" and "Arias of Figaro" by G. Rossini performed by Atageldy Garyagdyev. The final number was the song "Come to Turkmenistan" by Veli Muhadov, which was performed by all the participants of the concert.
