This year, the 30th Anniversary International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – OGT 2025” coincides with another momentous occasion — the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations’ recognition of Turkmenistan’s status of Permanent Neutrality, conferred on 12 December 1995.
Over the past three decades, Neutrality has become the cornerstone of Turkmenistan’s state policy, defining its diplomatic standing, ensuring internal stability, and creating wide-ranging opportunities for constructive international cooperation.
In the energy sector, this principle has provided a reliable foundation for Turkmenistan’s reputation as a stable and reliable partner, strengthening mutual confidence and underpinning the reliability of cross-border projects that connect the country’s vast natural resources with global markets.
A Milestone Forum for a Transforming Energy Landscape

Marking its 30th anniversary, OGT 2025 reaffirms its role as Turkmenistan’s flagship energy event at a time when global markets demand both security of supply and progress towards energy transition. From the development of super-giant gas field and regional infrastructure to methane-emission reduction and new investment frameworks, this year’s programme is designed for substantive dialogue leading to actionable outcomes and investment-ready opportunities.
High-Level Plenary Participation
The jubilee conference opens with one of the most distinguished plenary line-ups in the forum’s history. Participants include Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan; Andrea Stegher, President of the International Gas Union (IGU); Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab, Executive Vice President of PETRONAS; Daniel Yergin, Vice Chairman of S&P Global; Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR; Abdulwahit Fidan, General Director of BOTAŞ; and Abdulla Al Shamsi, Director of Business Development at ADNOC XRG, alongside senior representatives of leading international organisations and industry associations.
Their participation lends strategic weight to the discussions, ensuring an exchange of insights on energy-policy priorities, market developments, and pathways for technological and investment cooperation shaping the future of the global energy system.
UN Pre-Conference Dialogue – “Energy for Peace and Prosperity”
On 21 October, ahead of the official opening of OGT 2025, a special pre-conference session will be held under the title “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Turkmenistan’s Contribution to SDG 7 and the Global Energy Transition.” Moderated by Mr. Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, the dialogue will facilitate a strategic exchange on energy security, sustainable development, and equitable transition.
Particular attention will be given to the role of neutrality and international partnership in providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy for all, as well as to Turkmenistan’s continued contribution to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy.

OGT 2025 Technical Conference
As part of the forum’s agenda, OGT 2025 will host a Technical Conference organised jointly with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and S&P Global Commodity Insights (Platts).
The conference will comprise four focused sessions aimed at professional exchange and practical, technology-based solutions.
Two technical sessions, prepared with SPE, will focus on:
- Talent, skills and ai -building a future-ready workforce;
- Operation of wells in mature oil and gas fields: challenges and opportunities.
Two strategic sessions, held with S&P Global Commodity Insights, will address:
- Global Oil and Gas Outlook 2025 - 2030: Market Drivers, Risks & Price Forecasts;
- Digital Transformation in Commodities Trading: AI, Blockchain, & Risk Management.
For experts from national energy companies, ministries, universities, and research institutions, these sessions provide a valuable opportunity to exchange experience with global peers and align technological progress with international best practice.
Fireside Chats: Financing and Investment in Energy
For the first time, OGT 2025 introduces two dedicated Fireside Chats focusing on financial and investment aspects of energy-sector development. The first, “Investor’s Perspective,” will feature insights from international financial institutions and strategic partners on assessing project risk, implementation timelines, and investment attractiveness.
The second, “Financing Clean Energy: Opportunities, Risks and Requirements,” will explore modern financing instruments and capital structures, off-take frameworks, transparency and disclosure, sustainability, and alignment with ESG standards.
Together, these sessions aim to examine emerging global trends in project finance and investment while promoting alignment of national initiatives with international standards of transparency, resilience, and responsible growth.

Scale and Business Engagement
Commemorating three decades of achievement, OGT 2025 reaches an unprecedented scale of participation. More than 1 200 delegates from 70 countries have already confirmed their attendance, underscoring Turkmenistan’s standing as a major energy hub of Eurasia.
The exhibition will welcome over 100 companies – a 50 percent increase compared with the previous year. Remarkably, more than 50 companies are joining OGT for the first time, reflecting the openness of the Turkmen market and growing interest from new international partners. The exhibition floor will showcase a broad range of technologies and solutions, including a live demonstration area for innovative products from international companies and a dedicated B2B zone facilitating networking and the conclusion of new partnerships.
The programme will also feature structured one-to-one business meetings with senior executives from national companies, ministries, and foreign enterprises — a format designed to strengthen direct dialogue, accelerate project coordination, and enhance the effectiveness of international cooperation. In this way, OGT 2025 serves not only as a forum for discussion but as a practical instrument for developing enduring energy partnerships and investment solutions that will drive sustainable growth of Turkmenistan’s energy sector and its integration into the regional and global economy.
Investments, Energy and Development

At the heart of OGT 2025 are the investment projects shaping Turkmenistan’s long-term energy future:
- Galkynysh Field – the next phase of development of the supergiant gas field, including modernisation of processing and compression facilities to enhance supply flexibility;
- TAPI Pipeline – the construction of the Transnational Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, a landmark of regional energy connectivity and cooperation;
- Turkmen Caspian Sector – the development of new offshore blocks, optimisation of existing assets, and improvement of drilling, marine, and logistics services;
- Gas and Petrochemicals – the implementation of integrated complexes producing polymers, ammonia, methanol, and olefins to diversify exports and strengthen the country’s economic resilience.
The guiding principle is integration and efficiency: the continuous enhancement of resource management goes hand in hand with the development of transport and processing infrastructure, turning production reliability into sustainable revenues and long-term investment appeal.

Celebrating its 30-year legacy, OGT 2025 stands as more than a venue for dialogue — it is a platform for practical cooperation that unites government institutions, national companies, international corporations, financial organisations, and technology partners under a shared vision of sustainable progress.
By aligning Turkmenistan’s national development strategy with the global energy agenda, the forum strengthens international confidence and affirms Turkmenistan’s role as a reliable partner and a leading voice in the Eurasian energy dialogue.
The 30th Anniversary of OGT marks not only three decades of mutually beneficial cooperation, but also a confident step into the future — towards innovation, sustainability, and prosperity for all.
