Nuryagdy Bayramov - the founder of the Bahshi family dynasty

Nuryagdy Bayramov was born on August 3, 1938 in the village of Yankala of the Akhal velayat, which was called the "village of bahshi". Many talented bakhshis were born and raised here, such as the virtuoso gidjakist Chary Gurbanov, Myly Tyachmyradov, Chary Odek, Aimammet Ashyrov.

His uncle, Byashim Meret, worked as a gijak player of the Turkmen State Folk Musical Orchestra and was the first to teach Nury to play the dutar. Byashim aha died in the 1948 earthquake.

After graduating from a seven-year school in 1953, Nuryagdy was enrolled in a musical group under the leadership of Mylla Tachmuradov, a master-mentor. The famous musician Tugur Berdiniyazov became his mentor.

During his creative career, Nuryagdy Bayramov, together with the master of gijak, laureate of the International Prize named after Magtymguly, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, conductor and composer Annageldi Dzhulgaev and his creative team, traveled to many countries, performed in Iran, Syria, Jordan, Sweden. in Malta, in Japan.

Nuryagdy Bayramov eventually began teaching dutar at the National Conservatory of Turkmenistan. He taught the skill of such famous bahshi as Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Arslan Atdanov, Gulbahar Byashimova, Shadurdy Baydzhykov, Makhtymguly Magtymgulyev, Chemen Khommadovezova.

In the footsteps of Nuryagda Bayramov, his son Merdan Bayramov, a dutar teacher at the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, and his grandson Serdar Bayramov, a teacher at the Danatar Ovezov Turkmen State Special Music School, followed. The younger brother of Nuryagdy Bayramov, Rustem, is also a bakhshi and works in the Cultural and Business Center of the oil and gas complex.
