Today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan a meeting with the newly arrived UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko was held, press service of the MFA reports.
Congratulating Shlapachenko on the start of his work in the country, the Turkmen side stressed that one of the main directions of the foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan is to expand cooperation with international organizations and, first of all, with the UN.
During the meeting, the diplomats exchanged views on the further development of cooperation in the areas of security and the humanitarian dimension, and also reviewed practical steps for the implementation of the SDGs at the national level.
Pointing out the commitment for further expansion of cooperation, Dmitry Shlapachenko assured that as the UN Plenipotentiary Representative in Turkmenistan, he intends to make every effort to intensify relations between Turkmenistan and the UN in the interests of global peace, stability and prosperity.
