Turkmenistan has introduced mandatory measures to prevent seasonal infectious diseases

Since August 18, Turkmenistan has introduced temporary mandatory measures to prevent seasonal infectious diseases among the population. The corresponding order was issued by the Ministry of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan, according to the official website of the Ministry of adalat of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the order, in order to prevent the spread of seasonal infectious diseases among the population of the country as a sanitary (preventive) measure against the epidemic, all citizens (except pre-school children) must wear protective masks when staying in public places (in all enterprises, regardless of the form of ownership, at railway stations, markets, shops, on the street and in other places), as well as when driving on transport of all types.

As noted in the order, these measures are introduced in accordance with article 17 of the Sanitary code of Turkmenistan to strengthen preventive measures related to seasonal infectious diseases in our country, in order to increase awareness and culture of citizens in this area, as well as in compliance with the decision of the Emergency Commission for combating the spread of diseases of August 16, 2020.

The Deputy Minister of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan and the head of the State sanitary and epidemiological service are responsible for monitoring the implementation of sanitary (preventive) measures in the country.

The media and press service are charged with covering these preventive measures.
