The international forum dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan was held in videoconference mode

Today, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted an international media forum in the format of a videoconference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

It was attended by heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, members of the teaching staff of a number of Turkmen universities, national mass media, scientists, experts, as well as heads and representatives of such major news agencies as “MIR”, “TASS”, “TRT AVAZ”, “TV-24”, “NEWS ASTRO”, “AzerTaj”, “Anadolu Azhansy”, “ArmInfo”, “Zhenmin Zhibao”, “Kazinform”, “Mangistau Media”, “Noyan Tapan”, ”NHK”, “chinadaily”, “news day Georgia”, “daily ittehad”, “business Central Asia”, “Kabar”, “psearcher”, “MIA trend”, “UzReport”, “NEWS ASTRO”, “news of Uzbekistan” and the news Agency “Asia-Caucasus”. Along with news agencies, representatives of other media participated in the media forum, including the Russian Foreign Ministry's “International life” magazine, “Istanbul today”, “Diplomatik Gozlem”, “The Diplomatic Insight”, “The Georgian Business Week”, “Diva International”, and newspaper publications “Russian newspaper”, “Multinational Georgia”, Objective TV channel, and others.

Also, the event was attended by the rectors and professors of well-known foreign universities, heads of authoritative international non-governmental organizations.

More than 50 correspondents of news agencies from more than 20 countries participated in the forum.

At the opening of the media forum, the importance of the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, conducted under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was noted.

The event featured a video showing the success of Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality.

During their speeches, participants of the forum spoke about their vision of the status of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan, aimed at promoting humane values and achieving progress in the world exclusively through peaceful and constructive dialogue.

Alexander Kopnov, Deputy General Director of the Russian “TASS” News Agency:

"Turkmenistan's neutrality serves as a good basis for the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the States of the region and the world. The permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan reflects the desire of its people to preserve peace and good-neighborly relations with other countries."

Independent consultant on the issues of democratization and security sector reform in the Netherlands, Professor, doctor of Economics S. Faltas in his speech emphasized that Turkmenistan has successfully combined positive neutrality with its foreign policy, which is implemented on the principles of good-neighborliness and mutual respect.

V. Shadursky-doctor of historical Sciences, Dean of the faculty of International relations of the Belarusian State University during his speech highlighted the special significance of Turkmenistan's Neutrality in the context of strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial friendly relations between peoples and countries of the world.

B. Ahmetov, rector of the Sh. Esenov Caspian state University of technology and engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specified the main directions of the Institute of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan and noted that "Kazakhstan, as a friendly country, supports the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan and respects its self-chosen path of development".

At the end of the event all participants were invited to Ashgabat international conference "Neutrality and its role in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development", which is scheduled for December of this year, the press service of the foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The forum was also supported by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.
