Turkmenistan extends school holidays until April 6

Holidays in all secondary schools in Turkmenistan have been extended until April 6. The corresponding order signed by the Ministry of education is aimed at preventing the spread of respiratory diseases in connection with the who-declared coronavirus pandemic as a preventive measure. This was reported to “Turkmenportal” in the education Department of Ashgabat.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the first cases of which were recorded in the Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of last year, affects 177 countries.

In Turkmenistan, under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in accordance with the recommendations of the world health organization and taking into account national legislation, necessary and timely steps are being taken to prevent the entry of dangerous infectious diseases into the country.

In particular, from March 19 to April 30, 2020, Turkmenistan temporarily suspended all international flights. In addition, all previously planned mass events (exhibitions, fairs, sports events, matches, concerts, etc.) have been canceled or postponed.

Recall that in Turkmenistan, according to the Ministry of health and medical industry, cases of coronavirus have not been recorded.
