The head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the "Central Asia - USA" Ministerial meeting in Tashkent

Today, Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in a Ministerial meeting in the "C5+1" format held in Tashkent.

The meeting was attended by the foreign Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Secretary of State of the United States of America.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues in the political, economic, cultural and educational spheres were discussed. In particular, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in border management, trade, energy and transport.

Special attention was paid to the Afghan issue. In this context, the Turkmen delegation reported on the promotion of projects for the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, power transmission line and fiber-optic communication along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route, and Railways from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

Following the talks, the participants adopted a Joint statement of the Ministerial meeting in the "C5+1" format.

As part of the event, foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with us Secretary of State Michael Pompeo. During the meeting, a number of topical issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well as regional topics of mutual interest, according to the website of the Turkmen foreign Ministry.
