President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received today the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan, Togan Oral, who presented his credentials to the head of state, the State news Agency of our country reports.
Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the audience, the guest conveyed to the head of state warm words of greeting from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who addressed wishes of happiness and well-being to the fraternal Turkmen people.
Addressing his best wishes to the top leadership of the Republic of Turkey, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations.
Congratulating the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible position, the head of state wished him great success in activating the multifaceted Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.
During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the guest exchanged views on key areas of development of the interstate partnership based on the principles of mutual benefit and long-term sustainability.
This is clearly evidenced by dozens of implemented and currently implemented joint projects in various fields. Among the priority areas of cooperation were named the trade and economic sphere, energy, construction industry, textile industry, transport and communication sector, etc.
In this context, the role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission and the joint Business Council as effective mechanisms for expanding and diversifying effective partnership was noted.
The humanitarian sphere is an integral and important component of interstate relations. In this area, we have accumulated a wealth of experience in working together and there are favorable opportunities for building up fruitful cooperation in the fields of education and science, culture and art, sports and tourism.
At the same time, it was noted that Turkmenistan and Turkey effectively interact in the format of authoritative regional and international organizations, demonstrating the coincidence or similarity of positions on current issues.
In this context, the importance of this year's significant date – the 25th anniversary of the internationally recognized status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, as well as the constructive initiatives put forward by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the region and creating conditions for universal sustainable development was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Togan Oral assured the head of state that he would use his knowledge and diplomatic experience to expand a constructive dialogue that meets the interests of the two fraternal countries and peoples.
Today, Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey Togan Oral was received at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where issues of further strengthening of Turkmen-Turkish relations were discussed.
