Today, Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to our country, Togan Oral.
The sides exchanged warm greetings and noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. It was noted that high-level mutual visits play an important role in promoting Turkmen-Turkish relations based on the principles of mutual respect, openness and trust, the website of the Turkmen foreign Ministry reports.
Speaking about the importance and relevance of coordinated actions of the international community to maintain stability and security exclusively through peaceful means, the parties noted the importance of the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. It was noted that this year the country is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its neutrality, on the occasion of which a number of international events are planned. They stressed the role of interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries and the similarity of positions on key aspects of the international agenda.
The parties confirmed their readiness to actively cooperate to further strengthen Turkmen-Turkish ties.
Ambassador Togan Oral presented copies of his credentials and expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for their congratulations and good wishes on his appointment to a high diplomatic post.
