Apple is working on a compact AI device the size of an AirTag

Apple is developing a wearable device with artificial intelligence, The Information reports, citing sources.

According to sources, the device is comparable in size to the AirTag tracker but has a thicker body. It is planned to be equipped with two cameras, a microphone, a speaker, and wireless charging.

The development is in the early stages, and the company may abandon the project, the publication's sources noted. Details about the device's functionality are not yet being disclosed.

MacRumors speculates that an updated version of the Siri voice assistant may be responsible for these AI functions. Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman reported that Apple plans to upgrade Siri by the end of 2026, turning it into a chatbot with expanded capabilities: text and image generation, file and personal data analysis, app management, and web search.

Apple previously announced that the updated Siri would be powered by Google's Gemini models. In November 2025, Gurman wrote that the partnership with Google would cost the company 1 billion USD annually.
