1. The city of Arkadag received three awards at the International Smart City Expo 2024, which is taking place in the city of Goyang, Republic of Korea. During the award ceremony, the head of the Turkmen delegation, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan Derya Orazov, made a speech of thanks.

Hero of Turkmenistan and Russia, cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, who set a world record for the longest time spent in orbit, is completing his fifth space expedition and is preparing to return to Earth on September 23. This event marks the end of a mission that lasted 375 days, making it the longest in the International Space Station program. Kononenko, a native of Turkmenabat and the most experienced of the current Russian cosmonauts, on February 4 this year became the first person in history to spend a total of 1000 days in low Earth orbit.
4. Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood held her first press briefing at the new U.S. Embassy complex in Ashgabat. During the meeting with journalists, she outlined the main priorities of her activities as the head of the American diplomatic mission. Ambassador Rood highlighted key areas of work, including the fight against climate change and the development of the economic sector.
