1. The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a regular meeting of the State Security Council, at which the results of the work of military and law enforcement agencies for January-August of this year were summed up. During the meeting, issues of ensuring security and peace in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of security forces and further improving their activities were discussed. Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdyev was the first to make a report in which he noted the implementation of the instructions of the head of state to strengthen the country's defense capability. He also reported on the creation of appropriate conditions for the service and life of military personnel, as well as preparations for the military parade in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.
2. Today at the State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin in Ashgabat the premiere of the play “The Lizard” based on the play of the same name by Volodin will take place. This is a performance in which, against the backdrop of the confrontation between two primitive tribes, timeless human conflicts are reflected: the struggle between family ties and love, love and duty, the problem of loneliness and restlessness, the question of understanding betrayal. 3. On September 4, sowing of winter wheat began in the velayats of Turkmenistan. In the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats of the country, farmers have begun an important agricultural campaign aimed at ensuring food abundance. According to tradition, the elders offered a prayer for a bountiful harvest and threw the first wheat seeds into the ground, passing the baton to the machine operators. 4. The Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health in Ashgabat and the Maternal and Child Health Center in Dashoguz have two new oxygen stations, successfully installed by UNICEF in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. The support provided by UNICEF included the procurement and installation of stations, as well as technical assistance to ensure the stations are fully operational and integrated into the national health system.
5. The pavilion of the city of Arkadag is presented at the International Exhibition of Smart Cities World Smart City Expo-2024, which opened on September 3 in the city of Goyang, Republic of Korea. The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The pavilion of the “smart” city of Arkadag introduces visitors to its capabilities and features. 6. Ankara is planning a large-scale expansion of cooperation with Ashgabat, targeting ambitious projects in the energy sector and almost doubling trade turnover. The Turkish side sees Turkmenistan as a key partner not only in bilateral relations, but also in the context of developing transport corridors and strengthening ties in the Turkic world. Demirok noted the historically close ties between Türkiye and Turkmenistan, recalling the role of Türkiye as the first country to recognize the independence of Turkmenistan and open an embassy in Ashgabat. According to him, relations between states, based on common history, language, religion and culture, continue to strengthen, based on the principles of mutual respect and cooperation.

Scientists from Drexel University and other American scientific institutions have found a link between fish consumption by pregnant women and a reduced risk of developing autism spectrum disorders in their children. The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, shows that including fish in the diet of expectant mothers can reduce the child's chance of autism by about 20%. Interestingly, even occasional consumption of fish during pregnancy was associated with a reduced risk of autism in the child.

10. Forward of the “Altyn Asyr” football club Rovshegeldy Halmammedov was awarded the title of best player of the Turkmenistan championship in August. Halmammedov fully deserved this title, scoring five times in four matches played by his team last month.
