1. On August 30, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system, where the results of the country's work for the first seven months of 2024 were summed up. The head of state noted the success of the programs being implemented and discussed key aspects of the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan with members of the Government.
2. On the Day of Knowledge and Students, five new educational institutions are planned to open in Turkmenistan. Among them are a secondary school for 1200 students in the Ahal region, two secondary schools for 1360 students in the Lebap region, a kindergarten for 160 students and a secondary school for 500 students in the Mary region. On September 1, various festive events will be held in the country, including at the Independence Monument, at the Berdimuhamed Annayev Pedagogical Secondary Professional School in the city of Arkadag and at the 27th secondary school in the village of Yzgant in the Geoktepe etrap of the Ahal region. The first lesson of the new school year will be devoted to the theme “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” and the country's achievements over 33 years of independence.
3. The National Music Ensemble of Turkmenistan won first place at the XIII International Festival “Melodies of the East”, which was held in Samarkand. The group was awarded a special diploma and a cash prize of 5000 US dollars. The Turkmen musical group included People's Artists of Turkmenistan Suhanberdi Orazberdiyev and Hakberdi Allamuradov, teachers of the Turkmen National Conservatory Sapamyrat Annamuradov and Dovlet Danatarov, as well as a student of the conservatory Allamurad Muhammetgulyev.
4. In Ashgabat, a meeting of delegations of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan was held in an expanded format, following which a number of important documents were signed aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Among them are the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Afghan state company on cooperation in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan electric pipeline project, the Memorandum of Understanding between the “Turkmendemiryollary” Agency and the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan on cooperation in the construction of facilities at the Turghundi railway station, a work plan for the 22-kilometer section of the Turghundi-Sanabar railway and the Agreement between TAPI Pipeline and the Government of Afghanistan on the TAPI gas pipeline project.
5. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic. In his address, the Turkmen leader noted Kyrgyzstan's significant successes in strengthening statehood, socio-economic development and increasing international authority over the years of independence.
6. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution on the construction of the Şatlyk-1 gas compressor station in the Mary velayat. According to the document, the State Concern “Turkmengaz” is permitted to conclude a contract with the Turkish company Çalik Enerji for the design, construction and equipping of the facility with the necessary equipment, as well as commissioning.
7. On September 4, the sowing of wheat for the 2025 harvest will begin in the regions of Turkmenistan. This decision was made by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting held on Friday.
8. A ceremonial event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of Turkey's Victory Day, which marked the end of the country's War of Independence, was held in Ashgabat. The celebration took place on August 30 at the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Dovran Durdyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok, Turkish Military Attaché Mehmet Yildiz, as well as heads of diplomatic missions and deputy heads of security agencies of Turkmenistan. 9. The world's largest image of the state emblem, created in the unique technique of “ebru”, has appeared in Uzbekistan. The author of this large-scale work is Turkish artist Ahmed Choktan, who has surprised the world with his creations in this style more than once. The previous record, also owned by him, was set in 2009. Then the master created an ebru painting measuring 16,5 m². The new canvas, with an area of 18 m², once again confirms his skill and originality. The achievement was included in the Guinness World Records.
10. Forbes magazine has published its annual ranking of the wealthiest women in Russia for 2024. This Saturday, the “Turkmenistan Sport” TV channel will delight football fans with a marathon of four European championship matches, which will be broadcast live with commentary in the Turkmen language. The program includes three English Premier League games and one Italian Serie A match. The football day will begin at 16:30 Ashgabat time with a match between “Arsenal” and “Brighton”. Then at 19:00 viewers will see the confrontation between “Leicester” and “Aston Villa”. 12. Two Turkmen athletes, Ilima Huseynova and Sulgun Ishankuliyeva, received personal invitations to the prestigious junior tournament “Grand Slam Tennis. Regional Championship 14 & Under”, which will be held from September 7 to 14 in Cambodia. The tournament will bring together 24 of Asia's best tennis players under 14 years of age. The tournament in Cambodia is a qualifying competition, the results of which will determine the participants of the 2025 Australian Open Junior Championship and other international tournaments.
