1. “Uzbekneftegaz” and “Petronas Charigali” (Turkmenistan) are working on a program to supply Turkmen oil to Uzbekistan in 2023. Following the talks held in Tashkent, the parties reached an agreement on the joint preparation of a program for the supply of oil from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan. In particular, we are talking about the possibility of importing crude oil to load the capacities of the Bukhara oil refinery.

2. Direct flights from Kazan to Ashgabat are resumed by “Turkmenistan” Airlines from February 1. Flights in March 2023 will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.

3. In April, a business mission from the Lipetsk region of the Russian Federation will arrive in Turkmenistan. The arrival of about 40 entrepreneurs is expected. As a result of the Turkmen-Russian business forum held in Ashgabat, an agreement was reached that once every two months a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of any region of the Russian Federation would travel to Turkmenistan to work with colleagues from the relevant sector.

4. The Google Translate app now supports Turkmen offline. Google continues to improve its proprietary Google Translate app for iOS and Android devices. This time, we decided to please users with the support of offline translation of Turkmen and 32 more new languages. Let us remind that the Turkmen language was officially added to the Google Translate language registry in 2020.

5. The grand opening of the exhibition dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland, celebrated in Turkmenistan on January 27, was held at the State Museum of the State Cultural Center. The guests of honor at the opening ceremony were cadets and students of the Military Institute and Specialized Military School № 1 named after Berdimuhamed Annayev. Addressing the participants of the exhibition, the director of the museum Meretgeldi Charyev noted that the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland embodies both the history of the brave deeds of the ancestors and the continuity of the customs of serving the Motherland.

6. Turkmenistan has begun work on the restoration of the head of the Buddha statue, discovered by archaeologists at the excavations of the Gyaur-Kala settlement in Ancient Merv, and the restoration of the integral appearance of the sculpture. The work will be carried out by the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan in cooperation with specialists from the Getty Museum who arrived in Turkmenistan from Los Angeles, California. Experts will study fragments of ancient sculpture. Then they will recreate the lost part of the sculpture using 3D printing.

7. A minor resident of the Bangladesh city of Chittagong played hide and seek with his friends and hid so that he found himself in Malaysia. The boy hid in one of the shipping containers. While he was waiting for his friends to find him, he quietly fell asleep, and when he woke up, the container was locked and loaded onto a ship bound for neighboring Malaysia. Employees of the Malaysian port found an illegal passenger during the unloading of the container.

8. The Russian airline “Aeroflot” will increase the number of flights from Moscow to Shanghai to three per week from February 16. Flights from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and return flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This week, “Aeroflot” also announced that from February 15 it will increase the number of flights from Moscow to Guangzhou to 3 per week.

9. President of the hockey club “Ak Bars” and the Ice Hockey Federation of Tatarstan Nail Maganov, during a meeting with the leadership of the Ice Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan, invited the Turkmen team to a training camp in Kazan. Nail Maganov instructed his manager to create all the conditions with the involvement of a professional coach for the fruitful preparation of the hockey players of the national team of Turkmenistan for the world championship in the third division of group “A”, which will be held from April 17 to 23, 2023 in South Africa.

10. Turkmen striker Altymurad Annadurdyev returns to “Ahal”. As it became known to Turkmenportal, the footballer moved to “Ahal” as a free agent. The agreement with Annadurdyev is calculated until the end of the year. The 29 years old striker has expressed his desire to play in the AFC Champions League next season. Let us remind that in the 2022 season, “Ahal” won the Turkmenistan football championship for the first time in history and received the right to play in the Asian Champions League. Annadurdyev has already played for “Ahal” from 2015 to 2016. In this club, he made his debut at a professional level.
