The final of the national competition “The art of making a dutar, playing the dutar and the art of bahshi” took place in the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The purpose of the competition is to popularize the art of bahshi, which is a valuable layer of the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and world culture in general, as well as improve the skill of making folk musical instruments, exchange professional experience and develop the national school of dutarchi and bahshi.
The competition was attended by teachers and students of specialized musical institutions, employees of cultural centers and theaters, as well as amateur performers.
The competition was held in three nominations:
- the art of making a dutar;
- playing the dutar;
- bahshi's creativity.
The best dutarchi and bahshi, who were selected by a competent jury, were awarded diplomas and certificates of honor.
The competition was organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Central Council of the Youth Organization named after Mahtumkuli.
