President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the construction of modern railway stations at Dushak and Bami in the Ahal region, Jebel in the Balkan region and Bayramaly in the Mary region. The corresponding decision was made at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, held on a digital system, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the Program for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028. According to the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications M. Chakyev, the new stations are designed to improve conditions for passengers and employees of the railway industry.
The head of state noted the effectiveness of the work being carried out to modernize the railway infrastructure and instructed the head of the Agency to begin implementing the project to build new stations.
The development of railway transport is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s transport policy, aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the industry and creating comfortable conditions for passengers.
