Kazakhstan is introducing a new type of visa, Neo Nomad, aimed at foreign specialists working remotely. The initiative is being implemented at the direction of the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic.
The program was developed taking into account the successful experience of more than 50 countries that introduced similar visa regimes after the pandemic. The visa allows foreigners to live in Kazakhstan for up to 12 months while continuing to work for foreign companies.
To obtain a Neo Nomad visa, candidates must meet several criteria: have a stable income of at least 3000 USD from sources outside of Kazakhstan, provide health insurance and a certificate of no criminal record.
The visa is intended for a wide range of specialists, including programmers, marketers, financiers, consultants, designers and e-commerce specialists.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports predicts that the annual economic effect from the introduction of the new visa will be more than 3 billion tenge (about 6,8 million US dollars).
