Serdar Berdimuhamedov completed his working visit to Kazakhstan and returned to Ashgabat

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat after a one-day working visit to Kazakhstan, where he took part in the second meeting of heads of state in the “Central Asia-Germany” format, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reported today.

The summit, held in Astana, brought together Central Asian leaders and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss regional cooperation and security.

During the visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a number of important meetings, including talks with representatives of the German business community and a separate conversation with the German Chancellor. At the summit, the President of Turkmenistan delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of developing relations between the Central Asian countries and Germany, especially in the areas of regional security, economic cooperation and ecology.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the need to strengthen diplomatic contacts to combat international terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking. He also called for closer economic cooperation, highlighting such promising areas as transport, energy, industrial production and information technology.

The President of Turkmenistan paid special attention to the issues of ecology and climate change in his speech. He proposed to intensify the dialogue on “green” issues and develop specific plans for cooperation in the near future.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness for close cooperation within the framework of the “Central Asia – Germany” format and expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for organizing the meeting.

After completing his working visit to Kazakhstan, the President of Turkmenistan returned to Ashgabat on September 17. The presidential plane landed at the International Airport of the Turkmen capital, where the head of state was met by officials.
