The upcoming international forums in Turkmenistan will be held under the national flag of the country and the UN flag. This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a telephone conversation with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres, TDH reports.
“At the upcoming international meetings and events in Turkmenistan, along with the State Flag, we want to install the flag of the United Nations as a clear indication of our position. This will be an expression of pride for us, a manifestation of the unity of positions and goals of neutral Turkmenistan and the UN,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres noted the current relevance of all initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan in the international arena, and once again confirmed support for activities in this direction, implemented on the basis of the principles of neutrality and peacefulness.
Earlier, we reported that the UN Secretary General approved the Concept of Turkmenistan’s activities in the International Year of Peace and Trust.
