At the 26th Big World of Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, China, an exact ice replica of the Ashgabat Wedding Palace “Bagt köşgi” was presented. The craftsmen reproduced all the elements of the building in detail, including the elegant patterns on the facade and the characteristic cube with octagonal sides.

According to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”, the ice sculpture of the palace became part of a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the sights of 42 countries participating in the Olympic Council of Asia. Particular attention to the Asian theme is connected with the upcoming IX Asian Winter Games in February, which will be held in Harbin.

This year, the festival set a historical record by becoming the largest snow town in the world. Its area reached 1 million square meters, which significantly exceeds the figures of previous years. 300 thousand cubic meters of ice and snow were used to create the park.

The central element of the park is the main tower with the emblem of the Olympic Council of Asia, decorated with symbolic images of a dragon and an eagle, representing the unity of East, West and Central Asia. The “Central Asia” section also features ice copies of Ala-Too Square from Kyrgyzstan and the Khujand Museum from Tajikistan.
