The UAE is introducing an innovative service for tourists: a free eSIM with 10 GB of internet. The country’s largest telecom operator, e&, has introduced a new initiative that allows guests to activate a virtual SIM card immediately after passing passport control, writes russianemirates.com.
Tourists will only need to scan a QR code and go through a quick facial recognition procedure. This service is available during the first 24 hours of their stay, allowing travelers to immediately contact loved ones and access the necessary online services.
The innovation is designed to improve the tourist experience of millions of guests who visit the UAE every year. According to the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai alone received more than 17.15 million foreign tourists last year, and Abu Dhabi – 3.8 million overnight guests.
